Ian Fu started playing classical guitar as a hobby during his study in United Kingdom. His first encounter of "authentic" Flamenco music came with a few cassette tapes available in a library near his university while his was studying in United Kingdom. Those tapes recorded the guitar performances by two leading masters of Flamenco Guitar - Paco de Lucia and Paco Pena. These two masters had great influence on Ian Fu's understanding of Flamenco Guitar and inspired him for a life long pursuance of the magic sound of Flamenco Guitar.

In mid 80s, public information about Flamenco was very limited and accurate written music for Flamenco guitar were difficult to be found. As a beginner of Flamenco Guitar, Ian Fu had gone through a long and lonely period of studying Flamenco guitar on his own. In early 90s, Ian Fu had taken up a job with oversea assignments; it was when he met other professional Flamenco guitarists with better understanding of Flamenco. In the mid 90s, Ian Fu had worked as accompanist guitarist with oversea Flamenco dancers. This offered him wonderful opportunities to understand the essence of Flamenco. Since 2002, Ian Fu performed as soloist in various venues, including TV and Radio, and began to teach Flamenco Guitar in Hong Kong.

In early 2006, Ian Fu found a music group called "Mi Camino Flamenco". The objectives of this group is to provide a platform for promoting Flamenco Guitar music, especially in Chinese Community, and encouraging amateur, learner and aficionados to learn and perform, share the joy of playing Flamenco Guitar. In coming years, Mi Camino Flamenco will continue to present and perform Flamenco Guitar music for audience in China and Hong Kong.
