Like any kind of art, artists are distinguished from a real "master" by the fact that master has implied the ability to master the art with real demonstration to any audience together with personal greatness and intellectual quality.The master is universal and recognizable in the field.
 What quality distinguishes Flamenco Guitar Master
The list of attributes of a real Flamenco Guitar Master is very long. In summary, we would look at a few key levels of mastership as follows:
Level 0
(Preparation) |
Learn the basic knowledge of Flamenco and Flamenco Guitar. |
Level 1
(Basic Skill) |
Master the basic Flamenco Guitar techniques: Picado, Alzupa, Thumb, Tremolo, Resguardo, Appegio. |
Level 2
(Compas Skill) |
Master the compass of various Flamenco Styles. |
Level 3
(Basic Sets) |
Demonstrate publicly the ability to play a complete repertoire as a suite of at least 15 styles in a solo concert, including, but not limited to, Alegrias, Soleares, Bulerias, Siguiriyas, Zapateado, Farrcua, Tangos, Fandangos de Huelva, Tarrantas, Tarrantos, Rondenas, Tientos, Sevillanas, Tanguillos, Peterenas. |
Level 4
(Advanced Players) |
Demonstrate publicly the ability to play the master pieces level of the above pieces in a solo concert. |
Level 5
(Professional 1) |
Demonstrate publicly the ability to accompany Flamenco Singing of various styles of Alegrias, Soleares, Bulerias and others in a public performance with general approval. |
Level 6
(Professional 2) |
Demonstrate publicly the ability to accompany Flamenco Dancing of Alegrias, Soleares, Bulerias etc. |
Level 7
(Master) |
Compose a complete suite of Flamenco Solo works and perform in public or recordings with general acceptance. |
Based on this model, we could assess the ability and status of any players. Or you could use it to as guidance to direct the development of your Flamenco Guitar knowledge and skill.
