Feelings
When Flamenco artists perform, feelings and moods associated with the Flamenco styles would be demonstrated to audience through their bodily execution and their deep feelings of the art. These feelings are formed by the knowledge of the styles combining their experience in life. Life experience plays an important part in delivery sentimental messages in Flamenco. Below are my sharing of my feelings when I plays different Flamenco styles:

  1. Loneliness of Solea ¡V Loneliness is always in my heart. My heart struggles to look for someone to share just anything happened in life in a world of isolation with various fences separating people. The harder I struggle, the more lonely I would be.

  2. Sadness of Siguiriyas ¡V Sadness of the losing a close or beloved person demonstrating how little and vulnerable we human beings are. Trembling fear of death, helpless loneliness within our heart of those facing death and full disappointment in life by harshness of the world are what I would like to remind myself the pain when playing Siguiriyas and Serenas.

  3. Happiness of Alegrias ¡V Sometimes, people are not exactly sure why they are happy. They just laugh and enjoy the moment of their life. Alegrias reminds me those beautiful moments in my life.

  4. Brightness of Bulerias ¡V Bulerias puts me into a state of full excitement; a state being complete free from any troubles and worries. There is no future to be worried about and I am just surrounded by the excitement.

  5. Power of Fate in Tarantas ¡V Power of fate is bigger than anyone could imagine. Fate never showing his real appearance to anyone, but it affects everything. Efforts, wisdom, health and wealth of human being have very little meanings to any destiny as those are only little part which Fate operates. Tarantas reminds me the power of fate and how helpless we could be when we confront it.

Zen Words
"Technicians would always point out the faults of a performer whereas a master looks for something well executed."

"A Flamenco Guitar Master admired his pupils for playing well in a concert. The pupil did not really understand that because he realized that he made a lot of the mistakes. One day, he came to his Master and asked his master." Why did you give a fine comment to my playing? I did make a lot of mistakes.

The master replied him, "I saw your mistakes but more important I saw the good things of your performance. You played this Falsetas in a new position which was not played by others and you had executed my Falsetas in a new way and I have never considered before. His pupils finally understood the viewpoint of his master."

Masters
"A real master displays his being of having ability, creativity, intelligence and love inside his heart. He could make mistakes as any human being, but more importantly he makes contributions. Masters' glory fades out in time but they works are timeless and remaining to be treasures for generations." - Ian Fu
